Jai Tapu Opetaia is a Samoan-Australian professional boxer and two-time IBF cruiserweight world champion. Born in Sydney on 30 June 1995, he comes from a boxing family (fourth-generation on his father’s side, third on his mother’s) and began competing at age 12.

As an amateur he became Australia’s youngest Olympic boxer at 16, representing the country at London 2012. He turned pro in 2015 and remains undefeated, compiling a 30–0 record with 23 knockouts. Opetaia won his first world title in 2022 by outpointing Mairis Briedis, briefly vacated the IBF belt, then reclaimed it in 2024 to become a two-time champion.
